The kingdom occupies an old garden between a brick wall and three overturned flowerpots. Its border can be crossed in eleven adult steps.

At sunrise, couriers carry petitions concerning shade, crumbs and the conduct of sparrows. The council meets beneath terracotta. Proceedings stop for rain because the chamber roof is also a saucer.

09:00 The ministry of paths. Its entire budget maintains four routes. Every citizen knows each stone closely enough to notice when an ant colony has altered traffic.

13:20 The constitutional shadow. A sunflower blocks the palace for nineteen minutes. Scholars dispute whether this is a celestial event or poor planning.

18:00 The border closes. Not against enemies, but against the automatic sprinkler.

The kingdom’s seriousness is comic because its scale is tiny. Yet scale does not determine meaning. A place becomes politically real when inhabitants know it closely enough to argue over its care.
