01–03 Domestic specialists. The Cable Untangler stops when it encounters a knot tied intentionally. The Lost-Glasses Scout searches only surfaces below shoulder height. The Quiet Door Closer waits long enough to avoid trapping a trailing sleeve.
04–07 Helpers with boundaries. A storm-time pet companion provides warmth but never medication. A plant turner follows sunlight but cannot water. Each machine exposes its limits through shape, sound and a physical stop control.
08–10 The dignity of small problems. The final three collect crumbs, read confusing instructions aloud and remind residents which leftovers should be eaten first. None promises transformation.
Friendly design is not a pair of digital eyes. Trust comes from predictable action, legible limits and correction without punishment. The robots feel humane because they decline authority outside their competence.
